i) Reverend Edward Lindsell, Broom Hall, Southill, clerk, and wife Elizabeth (formerly Elizabeth Barber, spinster) ii) John Lindsell, Lincoln’s Inn, Middlesex, only son of i) iii) Harriett Hogg, Biggleswade, spinster, one of daughters of William Hogg, Biggleswade, esquire iv) Reverend John Paley, Lacock, Wiltshire, clerk Charles Barnett, Stratton Park, esquire Frederick Hogg, Girtford [Sandy] esquire whereas: marriage is shortly intended between ii) and iii) i) conveys (with acknowledgement by Elizabeth Lindsell that they are her own act and deed ) to iv) - capital messuage in Broome, Southill, etc. now in occupation of Edward Lindsell - lands near or adjoining now in occupation of Edward Lindsell (350 acres) - all other messuages in Broom late the estate of John Barber, esquire, and which upon his decease descended to his only sister and heiress at law, Elizabeth Lindsell Various trusts created Power given to appoint further trustees signatures all With note of assent of Elizabeth Lindsell to this deed endorsed witnesses Edward Argles L.W. Jarvis William Lindsell 2 August 1842 endorsed with: Appointment of new trustees i) John Lindsell and Harriett Hogg (now Harriett Lindsell, wife of John) ii) John Paley Frederick Hogg iii) Frederick Archdale, Baldock, Hertfordshire, esquire Edward Barber Lindsell, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, gentleman whereas: i) were married on 4 August 1842 : by indenture of 4 July 1845 between a) Richard Charles Francis, Earl of Clanwilliam, and George William, Baron Bruce b) Sidney Herbert c) Edward Lindsell and Elizabeth Lindsell d) John Lindsell certain fee farm rents were assured to uses and upon trusts to intent that they might become merged in the freehold : by an indenture of 9 January 1867 between 1) James Glenholm Lennox 2) John Paley, Charles Barnett, Frederick Hogg property in Broom was limited in trust : Edward and Elizabeth Lindsell are both now deceased : Charles Barnett died on 19 June 1876 : John Paley, in November 1876 was desirous of being discharged from trust of within written indenture : Frederick Archdale and Edward Barber Lindsell agreed to become trustees in their place : by indenture of 20 December 1876 endorsed on indenture of even date i) appointed iii) as trustees but formal appointment of trustees of within written indenture has not been made now i) do appoint iii) as trustees in place of Charles Barnett and John Paley also ii) at request of i) assign to iii) - all messuages in within written indenture signatures all witnesses F.W.Paley M.O.H.Custmer Jonathan Hooper 6 July 1878
