Detailed account of his travels in Holland. Records posting his letters in Rotterdam, and travelling via Delft to The Hague; finding the parliament house “plain but rather better than our House of Commons”; and travelling by tramway to Scheveningen in “a beautiful sort of bus. ” Compares Dutch towns with Paris and Salzburg, finding the food more suited than the French and Rhine to the English taste. Intends to visit Haarlem, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Arnhem, Zwolle, Zutphen, Deventer and return home via Utrecht, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, and Ostend.
