- Scope and ContentOn Saturday 5 Nov 1715 William Coleman of Astwood was at Dr. Godfrey's of Sharnbrook with a letter from Mr. Neville of Astwood. He asked if there were prayers that day; told no, he replied 'How should you, for I saw your parson & his man this morning at Mr. Brace's a - brewing'. Jeffery Woodham & Elizabeth Gilbert were also present. Her husband is sometimes employed by Godfrey. She was servant to Godfrey for 2 years, but last Michaelmas was hired to his relation Mrs. Watkins; who shortly died; and then she was with Godfrey till her recent marriage. Her husband is Godfrey's tenant. She did not go to church last 5 Nov. because the bells did not ring.
