    Reciting deed of 29 October 1851 in which it is mentioned that William Harbett, deceased, by a voluntary conveyance of 14 January 1843, conveyed certain property to Richards and Handscomb for the use of himself for life, and then for Teedon for life with remainder to use of eight persons including Harriett Hillyard Attlee, a bastard, who died intestate on 24 October 1844 in lifetime of testator. Harbett afterwards mortgaged the property. He died in 1847. Said property sold to Reverend John William Coventry Campion. Afterwards discovered that property had been insufficiently described in the mortgage and so title in part of it did not pass and so it became necessary to trace the title through the voluntary conveyance, all the parties to which having concurred to the sale to Mr. Campion. Said voluntary conveyance comprised personal and other property which has been sold and monies divided between the parties entitled. Harriett Hillyard Atlee’s ?th share being retained, (£29.3s.11d.). Mr. Campion is Lord of the Manor of Westoning and it is presumed that Harriett Hillyard Atlee’s share in the real estate in that parish escheated to him without further conveyance. Her ?th share in a small close (3 acres 3 roods 12 poles) in Tingrith would escheat to the Ladies of that Manor, and they have agreed to sell their interest to Mr. Campion. Mr. Campion wishes to be released from his covenant to pay Attlee’s ?th share on payment of £312. 10s. which is to be divided into eight parts. So it is proposed to endorse on deed of 29 October 1851, a deed of conveyance from the Ladies of the Manor of Tingrith and a release from the parties to whom said £312.10s. is to be paid It has been suggested that as Harriett Hillyard Atlee died illegitimate and a minor in Harbett’s lifetime, then her share reverted to him. Advice on this and on best way of passing title, requested.
