- Scope and ContentMentioned in the abstract of deeds included in WG 537 Details of title and schedule of debts: 'the which tenements and premisses the said Richard Gery had and held by vertue of an Indenture of Assignment thereof bearinge date the 22 November in the 35 yeare of the reigne of Queene Elizabeth ... made to him by William Gery esquire his father who had and held the same by virtue of a demise of the premisses by Indenture bearing date the 20th June in the 27 yeare of the reigne of the said late Queene to him made by William Gery of Over in the Countie of Cambridge gentleman', being demise for 300 years and which premises were granted by Richard Gery to (ii) in consideration of a marriage between William Gery the father party to these presents and Anne his wife, and of her marriage portion of £1500, one of the trusts being land of value of £250 be held for benefit of Anne Gery for her life in lieu of jointure. To hold to (2) on trust to raise capital to pay debts of William Gery the father, mentioned in a schedule, and to pay portions mentioned in schedule of which £600 is for marriage portion of Katherine (daughter of William Gery the father) now the wife of Nicholas Hare, gentleman, and on trust to pay the younger unmarried children of William Gery the father their several portions at the ages of 21 or day of marriage, and £200 for Anne the wife of William Gery the father within 6 months of death of William Gery the father.
