  • Admin/biog history
1839 Directory Nevill & William Day in Church Street. 1850 George and William Day in Church Street. 1854 George, Samuel and William Day. 1877 Samuel Day and Charles Robert Wade Gery in Cambridge Street. Notes supplied by Mr Abrahams, February 1949: Samuel Day apparently carried on the practice alone until the year 1864 when he took his nephew, Charles Robert Wade-Gery, into partnership and they practised at Cambridge Street, St Neots, as Day & Wade-Gery. Mr Wade-Gery left his uncle in or about the year 1875 and practised under his own name at 5 New Street, St Neots. In the year 1880 Algernon Bell Brackenbury came to him as Managing Clerk and eventually in 1898 was taken into partnership and the firm name was altered to Wade-Gery & Brackenbury. Mr C R Wade-Gery died on the 26th May 1911 and A B Brackenbury carried on alone, still as Wade-Gery & Brackenbury until August 1914 when Lionel Abrahams joined him, the firm name remaining unchanged. Algernon Bell Brackenbury died on the 3rd June 1929, and L Abrahams carried on alone until October 1947, still under this same name. His son G R L Abrahams, joined him then and the firm name remained as hitherto.
