    "...... I got back here from my 48 hours pass at 20 minutes to 8 on the Monday morning. That meant I was 7 hours and 40 minutes late. For that I got 5 days jankers and a day's pay stopped, so for 5 nights I shovelled coke and paraded in full pack..... The 9 o'clock news has just been on and they've just announced the award of two Victoria Crosses. One of them Lt Basil Godfrey Plaice used to live in Maulden just along Clophill Road about a quarter of a mile from where I live. The house is named 'Four Winds' ...."
