Letter from Bishop of Raphoe. Been letters in the newspaper Patriot about the Diocese of Elphin. Mr. Brougham has “a petition against me from a Mr. Wade, for not having appointed him to the Curacy of Bally Shannon.” Mr. Wade was convinced he was fit for the Curacy but thinks “I dismissed him from the Curacy (which he never held) because he prayed for the Queen.” Mr. Wade been in orders for 34 years” without the testimonial of his ever been employed by any Bishop.”
