Letter to William Stuart from Lady Jane MaCartney. Explains about the £2,000 a year she is to get. The money is from a house in Charles Street which was given by her father “to us both” intends to make a will immediately and wants his opinions of who to make the trustees.

The jewels are to be Lady MacCartneys and they contain “one or two rings with diamonds and a watch chain (not a watch) with Pearls, These are all the jewels I can find – what he calls paraphernalia are a number of fine shawls, Chinese fans, purses etc. etc. all which is mine”. The wine has now gone from the cellars. Has now found out that there is no legacy for General Benson, or for Mr. Maxwell who has been a Secretary for 25 years.
