- TitleLettter from R. Blakeway.
- Date free text22 Feb 1776
- Production dateFrom: 1776 To: 1776
- Scope and Content- Mr. Hyde intends to become a candidate for the University upon a vacancy and Mr. Townshend intends to offer himself when Lord Granby is called to the House of Lords. Surprised at these 'premature applications' as the Duke of Rutland [Lord Granby’s father] is well, and there is no immediate expectation of a vacancy. -Will show William the Birmingham “manufacturers” if he goes there. Might also like to visit Lord Denbigh who is at his country-seat. (Note on end in different handwriting: 'These letters not burnt because they contain some interesting particulars to me'.)
