Scope and Content
reciting will of William Carter, late of Hitchin, grocer, deceased, dated 14 August 1834 by which he devised to his son, i), and friend George Pooley, Hitchin, coachmaker, all his cottages, lands etc, on trust, after decease of wife Deary Carter, or in her lifetime with her concurrence, in trust for sale
He died on 10 Octover 1851. Will proved (Huntingdon) on 10 November 1851
Deary Carter died in December 1857
They were both buried at Independent Chapel at Hitchin
By deed of 27 May 1859 between George Pooley, then of Hadley Middx, gentleman, and John Carter, George Pooley renounced the executorship of the will
now in consideration of £135 paid to i) by ii)
i) conveys to ii)
- 2r 37p arable in Shillington in Town Field and now in occupation of William Waller
W, E&W James Long, deceased and now ii)
S Private occupation road belonging to the tithe allotment
to be held in use of ii) as tenants in common
also i) will produce above deed of renunciation if required to support title of ii) to above property
