[Recites (A) Marriage Settlement (Lease & Release), dated 28,29 Sept 1681; for £300: Robert Gale & Elizabeth Gale (mother of Robert Gale) on marriage of Robert Gale and Elizabeth, his now wife. -- farmhouse; a cottage in occupation of Simon Emerton; Farrs Close & orchard adjoining, containing 2 and a half acres, & Cookes close & Orchard containing 2 and a half acres, all in Over End in Oakley. And also 2 acres meadow in the Lott Mead in Stratford Meadow; 2 acres in susoe next to the corner in Oakley & 42 acres in the common fields of Oakley & Clapham [described in a schedule attached to said recited Release]. (B) Fine of previous Hilary term (1686); acknowledged by Robert Gale & wife Elizabeth, together with Thomas Williams alias Williamson & wife Anne, & Richard Dickins & wife Susan -- The said recited property; together with 2 cottages, 1 acre Land or stone pit ground on which the cottages were built (conveyed to said ThomasTayler by said Thomas Williams and wife); & a cottage in Kempston, of said Richard Dickins; under the name of: 2 messuages, 3 cottages, 5 gardens, 5 orchards, 120 acres land, 10 acres meadow &10 acres pasture in Oakley, Clapham, Milton Ernest & Kempston. Witnesses; F.Brace, Henry Whitbread, John West & Henry Baskerfield.
