    Articles of agreement: (i) Robert Battison, Thomas Cave, Thomas and Charles Bithrey, Jordan Green, merchants of Bedford (ii) Luke Francklin of Great Barford, gentleman, on behalf of his nephew John Francklin, a minor; John Bailey on behalf of Joseph Birch of Brandon, Suffolk, esquire. The merchants agree that every time the watermen employed by them return from Bedford they will send a full and true account of the number of chalders of coals, tons of iron, tons of salt, hundreds of deals, lasts of oats and all other grain, and ton weight of all other merchandise which they shall receive from Lynn or elsewhere upon the navigation by the said watermen. Luke Francklin and John Bailey agree that they will allow free of toll one out of every twenty tons or chalders; and also that they will take no toll for back carriage of sand and fullers earth and half toll for grain.
