    Roger de Grey is summoned to answer by what warrant he holds view of frankpledge in the manor of Podington, and free warren in the same. He answers by Hugh de Croft his attorney that he holds the said manor and liberties by feoffment of John de Grey, which John and his ancestors were seised of them from time immemorial. For his view of frankpledge he renders annually 4 shillings to the king by the sheriff. He pays 20 shillings for licence to retain these liberties.
