Scope and Content
[List of duties] Edward Latner is at his own proper costs and charges to recieve and return all manner of warrants, writs and precepts directed to the sheriff, and shall give diligent attendance upon the justices of assise, justices of gaol delivery and oyer and terminer, and justices of the peace, at all Assizes, gaol delivery, sessions of the peace, and other places of meeting where the Sheriff or Under-Sheriff ought to do the same; and make a true and just account and full payment unto the king's exchequer of all revenues etc wherewith the sheriff shall be chargeable to pay to the king; and shall keep George Francklin harmless from any escapers, misdoings or misbehaviour of Edward Latner or of any bailiff or keeper of the gaol; and within one year shall deliver unto George Francklin a sufficient quietus.
