    to son Daniel close called Cain's close alias Bottles close, Luton; 2 closes in Luton occupied self & Mr. George Hutchin, being part of Newlands Field; purchased from Mary Sherlock & Thomas Butcher; to son John messuage wherein William Higgs dwells at upper end of Castle Street, Luton; and 3 closes in Luton adjoining; the greater part of which were purchased from William Okey, but the further close next Bailey Field, lately enclosed by testator, from Rev. Thomas Whitehurst, & was once part of farm hereinefter devised, now occupied by Thomas Crawley; to 3 grandchildren Samuel, Elizabeth & Harriet Chase (children of late son Samuel) 3 closes in Luton, occupied by self & Mr. Benjamin Harrison, once part of Bridge Field, but 'have many years since been devided and seperated therefrom by quick fences set and planted by me'; to son John in trust to sell: copyhold blacksmith's shop in Wandon End, Kings Walden, occupied by Edward Wilson; to sons Daniel & John & daughters Elizabeth (widow of William Goldsmith esq.), Sarah (wife of Thomas Sibley of Chiltern green, gent.), & Frances (wife of Robert Barker of Walton, Surrey, esq.) in common, farmhouse in Luton occupied by Thomas Crawley and lands in Luton not before devised; to brother Daniel Chase of Wellingborough, gent., Rev. Thomas Pilley of Luton, & Mrs. Mary Mason, widow (who now resides with testator) leagacies; witnesses: Robert Wainwright, Leonard Hampson, John Griffiths.
