- Scope and ContentDear Dr Angus, I had a word with you last week about your letter of the 16th May but perhaps I had better confirm what I said then, that I have definately booked a passage by the French Line, leaving Southampton on December 27th. There is always a difficulty, apparently, in getting passages and Elder Fyffes were only prepared to put me on a waiting list. Therefore, finding that there was a berth vacant by the French Line I booked it in order to have something fixed. I have written to Keith Tucker myself about it and also to Mr Poupard. At the moment I have done nothing more than book the passage. I have not decided whether I should leave the boat at Trinidad and afterwards to on to Jamaica or vice versa, nor have I booked any return passage, but there is time, I think, to deal with these matter later on. With kind regards. Yours truly, H C Janes
