    Letters patent of Elizabeth: John Shute of London, in consideration of good service done, is to have 1/3 of property below, due to crown as escheat on death of Margaret Dane; to be held as of the manor of East Greenwich, Kent. Recites Inquiry post mortem on death of Margaret Dane, who died seised in demesne as of fee of: a close of 45 acres, next Clapham Park; Mead close, 26 acres; 3 closes called Francklin's closes, 32 acres; 1 close called Francklin's close, 13 acres; Great close, 87 acres; all known as Highfeylde. Little Cow close, 12 acres; Great Cow close, 30 acres, formerly called Oyclose; Fryers grove pasture, 40 acres. All now in the tenture of Thomas Dyve, gentleman, and George Francklin, gentleman, and are in Goldington and Ravensden; and were held by Margaret Dane in chief as 1/20 of a knight's fee. Will of Margaret Dane, 16 May 1579; devises to relative Edmund Style, son of Edmund Style, esquire. 1/3 of property is due to Crown (Margaret Dane dying without heirs): 27 acres meadow, 68 acres pasture worth £4 4s 5d per annum.
