    [Details of numerous bequests] Body to be buried in St Mary's church, to the high altar of which he leaves 3s 4d; to the clerk of the same 12d; to light the church 2s; to light Holy Cross 4s; and to the fabric 1/2 mark. On the day of his burial 6 lbs of wax are to be burned. To the use of the church of St John 12d; to the Hospital of St Leonard 12d; to Caldwell Priory 12d; to the rector of St Peter Dunstable 12d; to the friars minor to celebrate masses for his soul 3s 4d; to St Cuthbert's church 12d. To brother John Forest second-best mazer cup; to Hugh Forest a complete bed. To wife Emma 4 acres in the fields of Bedford: - 3 acres in Moderfeld between the land of the Master and brothers of St John and that of John Kempston; which 3 acres formerly belonged to John Ampthull of Bedford; - 1/2 acre in the same between the land of the prior and convent of Caldwell and that of Alexander de Stoppesleye; - 1/2 acre on Okfurlong next the land of Emma of Goldington, abutting on the land late of Simon Cullebere; a messuage in Potter Street next the bridge called le Carrebrigg; to be held of the chief lords of the fee by the usual services. To brother John Forest for life, and then to John's son Hugh, 3 acres called le Nunnegores, next the land of the Abbess and convent of Elstow; to be held (etc). To cousin Thomas Bele 2 acres in the same field next Pardone weye; to be held (etc). To Hugh Forest a yard in Milne lane next that of John Forest; to be held (etc). To son John and to testator's wife Emma 2 acres in the fields of Bedford near an oak (apud quercum) formerly William Wryghtte's; and a piece of land called le Boleaker in le Moderfeld, which they are to sell for masses for testator's soul.
