    Messuage now in occupance, Luton. Several cottages at Pepperstock, Flamstead now in possession of son Joseph Pain & all other real estate reversion to son Joseph, subject to payment of Mortgage money on it (not to be paid out of personal estate) of Cottages at Pepperstock reversion to eldest daughter Charlotte Pain,house in which he now dwells & all other personal estate in Luton. Subject to £300 to be paid to youngest daughter Mary, wife of Thomas Sherlock within 6 months of wife's death if she is dead then to Thomas Sherlock & children in equal shares at 21 (Thomas having 1 equal share) interest in meantime to be paid for their maintenance & education during minorities to wife Ann household gardens etc Reversion to above 3 children in equal share. Witnesses Edward Williamson, Richard Waring, Ann Wren Made 1 Dec 1820. Codicil, Son Joseph Pain not to have Pepperstock land unless pays what he owes to Charlotte Pain (pencil note Charlotte Pain after Wood now dead - Release of debt) Witnesses: Thomas Horton, Thomas Cooper, Thomas Wood. Codicil made 24 Nov 1821 no date of probate given
