  • Scope and Content
Mr. Gery's health. Dr. Wilson invited me to a family dinner. Lady Welby called. I must trouble you to look into the Library cupboard. you will see upon the shelf a little wooden box without a lid, with papers in it sticking up on end. Look into these papers and you will see Mr. Emeris's Licence for non-residence. Let William [Hugh] or Charles [sons] take it over to Mr. Beauford and desire him to be so good as to take it with him to the Visitation at Bedford on Thursday. If you can't find it there is a copy in the chest at Little Stoughton Church (not the Iron chest) and Flanders will find it. Little possibility of my being able to attend the licensing meeting at Kimbolton on Wednesday 27th, so one of my sons had better go to Kimbolton to Let Mr. Lewis know. Might also enquire when Archdeacon's visitation at Huntingdon. In my red pocket book for 1814 in the Library cupboard is my non-residence licence. I hope you can find all my keys. Take what apples and pears you want, and if you can find wine that you want in the cellar. I think it would be as well to let Mr. Beauford take Wilden and Mr. Pye Stoughton next Sunday.
