    1) Henry Brown of Luton, Timber-Merchant (heir at law & devisee in fee of Richard Brown) late of Luton, Maltster, deceased - long since 21) & Elizabeth, his wife (vendors) 2) John Shaw Leigh of Luton Hoo, Esq (purchaser) 2 closes of land or ground, one of which was formerly arable & the other meadow. Now both laid down to pasture or meadow ground, lying together in Flamstead near the Turnpike Road from Luton to St Albans (4A) at by measurement 3A, 3R,29P). Abs. North road or land leading out of Turnpike Road towards Pepperstock & on every other side by land of 2) (formerly Mrs Brydges) (purchased originally by Richard Brown from John Pain). AND close of pasture near Pepperstock, Flamstead, Herts. [1 1/2A but by measurement 1A, 1R, 3P] Gravely Lane on one side & land formerly of Mrs Brydges & now of John Shaw Leigh on the other. Abs at one end on Orchard or Garden or ground & Tenements formerly of Thomas Howes (purchased by Richard Brown from Thomas Howes). Consideration £700, 2 June 1855.
