Of Chilwick Green, Parish of St. Michael in Liberty of St. Albans, yeoman, aged, weak & infirm in body, to grandson William Day of Chilwick Green, Labourer. All freehold messuage, cottages, lands, tenements with Barns, yards, gardens, Orchards, Backsides, Houses, outhouses etc in or near Town of Hitchin. Herts AND messuage, cottage or tenement with barns etc called Wellhead, Ippolletts, Herts. AND messuage in Luton now in occupance of John Kirk AND pieces of arable land in common field called ""Blackety"" (sic) Field 4 and a half A (sic) bow in tenure of James Gotheridge in Luton .Condition William Day pay 3 grandchildren: Judith, Elizabeth, & Sarah 40s each within 12 mths of decease, grandson to have all personal estate not otherwise bequeathed out of which to pay debts & funeral charges (is appt sole executor) Grunnall signs by mark, made 1 May 1764, proved P.C.C 21 May 1765
