Bushmead Priory [to Mrs Wm Wade Gery, Revd T[homas] Milnes, Burton Agnes near Bridlington] Glad you were not ill crossing the Humber. Hester [Dawson] and family left us for Clapham on Monday 7th, but Frederick [Dawson] is ill now. Tuesday night we slept at Hugh's, then brought them to Bushmead. the two Mr Beaufords and Mr Sewel dined with us. Bob and Hugh have been to shoot at Thurleigh and left Dr Moor and Mr Jeffries some game. The Miss Clarkes and Mary Hannah left us the day after Hester had got to Melton. We are engaged to be at Mr Fydels on 28th of this month, and they intend taking us to the Oratorio at Stanford [Stamford] on 29th. Dr C????? not well, and declined coming to Bushmead. Last Saturday Mr and Mrs Capron and Miss H Halliley came and spent the day with us. Note from Hugh Wade-Gery: money. Killed a sheep which weighed only 37 pounds but the mutton was very good.
