Edinburgh. Your letter went to Gibraltar, but reached me at Beckingham. Have been in Edinburgh for nearly 5 weeks, and then go to Stirling for the winter. Colder climate agrees better with dear Selena [Charlotte Selina Raynes] than with us. Met many old friends (details). This modern Athens. Got a glimpse of my cousin Hugh and wife in passing through Newark. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
