Barton [Burton] Agnes, to Miss Milnes, Middlemore House, Grantham. Your cousin Charlotte [Elizabeth Milnes] was not returned to school - had with her a Miss Tate, daughter to one of her governesses. They went back to school last Tuesday. My sister is not returned from York. Your uncle and I with Mary Charlotte are the whole of the family. I expect your papa [John Milnes] back from the moors on Saturday. We left John to go to school - Mr Johnson was to take him. Company at Mr and Mrs Hodsons. Little company at Burlington. Respects to Mrs Challans and ask her to remember me to my uncle Gery. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
