- Scope and ContentBurton Agnes. Papa [Rev Thomas Milnes] much obliged to my uncle and aunt for their kind offer to take me with you to town for Masters, but as I have so lately returned from thence, he wishes me now to remain at home. The company will soon being coming to the Quay, which makes our village very lively, as they are continually passing, and frequently come to try for a sight of Sir F[rancis] Boynton's Hall. Sir F and his Lady, it is thought, will be married in town. Lady Boynton dying of a typhus fever. Walked to Lowthorpe House to see Mrs. Hodgson and her daughters - four miles the distance. Cousin Mary Costobadie is in a consumption and ordered to Clifton. Will grandmamma send papa the rent for the last halfyear. Have been working a hearthrug. Papa keeps a beautiful mare for me to ride.
