Ampthill Division cell book, marked no. 4. Pro-forma entries give: consecutive number, name of prisoner, charge, name of person charging, taken into custody by (usually surname and number of Constable), property found on prisoner and how disposed of, date and hour of apprehension, date and hour of removal from cells and where sent to, number of hours in cells, number of meals, amount (cost of meals). From about August 1933 the book is for Ampthill Sub-Division police station in the Biggleswade Division.
