Scope and Content
At the front of the album a new page added in 1941 records that the album had been retrieved from a secondhand bookshop by A.V. Pryer and was now presented by him to the school. A letter of 11 April 1951 from Mr A.V. Pryor to the Mayor says 'I have pleasure in handing to you now the album presented to the late G.M.T. Bates that you may place it in safe custody amongst the other treasured books and records in the bookcases of the mayor's parlour'. A further page records the mayor's meeting in 1979 with Mr F.D. Pryor who had contributed the illuminated work to the original album.
