  • Scope and Content
Ramsgate. We travelled as far as Biggleswade the first Day, and I showed [Thomas Augustus] Northmore the Woods upon your Lawn [ie Bushmead Priory] from the Road between Bugden [Buckden] and Eaton. Paid a visit to aunt Monoux who could not imagine who Mrs Northmore was!! Parker sends word the Allingtonians have not yet been at Denton. Bentley is detained by a Matrimonial scheme. Our lodgings comfortable. I took a dip in the sea yesterday morning but cannot say I much relished it on account of the quantity of salt water that got down my throat. Have been obliged to send for my mourning and am very angry at my Uncle Cumberland for not departing a little sooner, as we have now abundance of Cloaths that will be entirely useless to us. If you write after next Sunday, direct to me at Mrs Sprys, 7 Gt Cumberland St., Portman Sq. Northmore sends best love. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
