- Scope and ContentWelbourn [Mrs Wade Gery, Newark, Notts.] Millicent is something better. Is sorry to hear that Hester is going to live at Bushmead. We hope Mr. [William] Gery will like Peterborough. It will be new scene to him. Never imagined he would have left the Priory, as I always thought your Father was greatly attached to that place, but the many changes in his family he has of late experienced must have lessened his liking for Bushmead. Perhaps by this time your sister Eleanor is married. Has heard from Mrs. De Butts. Mr. De Butts has died (the doctor's brother) and so family more likely to return to England. Ague climate. Mr. [Thomas Augustus] Northmore and little boy (Thomas Welby Northmore] very well. My friend Ward is going to be married. Hope Mr. C[harles] Gery will receive benefit from journey to Scarborough. Mother, brother and Millicent join in every due regard. (This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
