Have been unwell and so spent a week at [Kings] Cliffe.The day Willy [William Hugh Wade-Gery jr] was to come home by the coach we had a letter saying he had fallen of the measles. Ann [Beckingham Wade-Gery, wife of the writer] had gone to Kimbolton to meet him. Ann went, and boy very ill and so I took old Fernie to Cliffe. Got through the rent day. The Newtons paid nothing. Have put your money into the Huntingdon Bank. Flanders have painted your room - 3 coats. Measles in our village so I suppose Hugh [Wade-Gery jr] will have them.
