- Scope and ContentTo be buried in the church or churchyard of Wootton. To son John, house and close adjoining occupied by Charles Mordaunt gent.,and all lands in Wootton and Kempston. Wife Anne is to have profits of house and land for 3 years for maintenance and education of children, then to son John, except 3 acres to wife for life:- 1 acre at Pilling Planck, 1 acre in the Breach and 4 roods shooting upon Mr. Rushes' hedge. To John house and close adjoining called Crowes, occupied by Sim. Pickering, he paying £30 to son Geo. and £30 to daughter Judith, and £30 to son Francis. To daughter Anne £30; the cupboard in the parlour, the biggest brass pot but one, 4 pr. sheets, 1 brown cow, at age 21 or marriage. To daughter Mary £30; 1 standing bedstead, 4 pr. sheets, the next brass pot and 1 kettle at age 21 or marriage. To brother Edm. 2 years rent of house in which Sim. Pickering dwells. To son Hen., house in which testator dwells, close adjoining, pightle called Haycroft adjoining, after death of wife. To poor of Wootton 20s. Remainder to Anne 'my well-beloved wife', exex.
