Assignment and Demise: (1) Elizabeth Kirke, Bedford, spinster, sole daughter and heir of Mary Kirke, otherwise called Mary Gascoigne, late of Bedford, widow, deceased (2) William Peacock, Bedford, yeoman. By (1) to (2) in consideration of rents and a certain sum, of premises below for 40 years, the term to commence at the expiration of a lease already made of premises dated 8 April 9 James I (1611) for 7 years to William Merrill of Bedford, blacksmith. All that tenement or cottage with the appurtenances in Bedford St Paul's next adjoining to the churchyard of St Pauls near unto the South East gate of the churchyard, now in the occupation of William Merrill, blacksmith.
