    Copy of Release, part of Conveyance by Lease and Release: (1) Thomas Russell, Bedford, clockmaker, and wife Elizabeth (2) William Harris, late of Biddenham but now of Bedford, gentleman (3) Samuel Richardson, Bedford, gentleman and Alderman, William Palmer, Bedford, barber and perukemaker. Conveyance by (1) to (3) in trust for (2) - messuage or dwelling house in Bedford St Paul heretofore called the White Lyon which has for many years been divided into two distinct tenements, now or lately in the occupations of Thomas Russell, party hereto, and Elizabeth Palmer, widow, adjoining: North and West - partly on the common street; East - partly on freehold late of George Hensman deceased, partly on a messuage or tenement in the occupation of John Smithes; South - on a messuage or inn called the Christopher. Also one undivided third part of several properties in Biddenham, mostly now or late in occupation of Thomas Sykes. Covenant to make further assurances on title.

    Reciting that Russell is indebted to Harris in sum of £366 16s 8p by virtue of two indentures, 8 May 1740 [see BorBE 11/14/24] and the other a mortgage of 19 May 1742 between (1) and (2). Reciting that Russell is also indebted to Harris in further sum of £59 3s 4d due on bond of 14 June 1743 and that total is more than the trust value of the mortgaged premises. Copy endorsed "Query where is the within recited Deed of 19 May 1742" Properties in Biddenham: - messuage or manor house in Biddenham now or late in occupation of Thomas Sykes; - messuage, cottage or tenement in Biddenham now or late in occupation of William Woodward and one Curtis; - three closes of pasture in Biddenham called the Holm Close, Bulls Close and the Pighle, containing by estimation 12 acres, now or late also in the occupation of Thomas Sykes; - close of pasture in Biddenham containing by estimation half an acre, now or late in occupation of Thomas Sykes; - arable close in Biddenham called the Fallow Close, in same occupation; - ten acres of meadow in Broad Mead and Sunder Mead in Biddenham in same occupation; - 50 acres arable in open fields of Biddenham in same occupation.
