- Scope and ContentReciting: indenture 7 Feb 1771 between (i) Levi Lavender, Jane his wife (then Jane Reynolds), spinster, one of the daughters and devisees named in the will of William Reynolds, late of Bedford, draper, deceased, Evan Philips, Old Change, London, tallow melter, and wife Elizabeth (therein described as being heretofore Elizabeth Reynolds, spinster), another of the daughters and devisees of William Reynolds (ii) John Gandy the grandfather. Reciting will of William Reynolds, late of Bedford, draper, deceased, and the subsequent marriages of Jane and Elizabeth Reynolds, and that in order to dock entail a fine had been levied on property, declaration of uses of property to use of (ii) upon trust, as to messuage to be conveyed below, to convey to Levi Lavender and his heirs. From the Commissioners' Minutes: - 4 Nov 1803 A private dwelling belonging to Mr Levi Lavender value £110 - 2 Dec 1803 Mr Levi Lavender is willing to accept £120 - 28 Dec 1803 Terms reasonable - 2 Nov 1804 The space of ground included between the South end of the house late the Spread Eagle and the Church Wall and a plot or space of ground to the West of the said house now belonging to the premises purchased by the Commissioners of Mr Levi Lavender and forming a projection into a room on the North side of the said house, be comprehended in the premises to be conveyed to Mr Peregrine Nash in lieu of the house and appurtenances known by the name of the Coach and Horses [see BorBE 11/12] - 10 Nov 1804 Bank Book: £120 to Levi Lavender
