  • Scope and Content
This book begins with observations by Brother Traneker on the need to keep in order the financial dealings of the Bedford congregation and of its individual members. The individual brethren are to inform members of the committee of indebtedness; they are not to borrow without notice; not to change their businesses without approval; choir-house affairs are to be overseen. This committee is to be under the direction of the Elders Conference. The book contains detailed accounts of all financial matters, and of proposed schools, etc., since these would need financial backing. There are papers, letters etc. interleaved. Some subscription lists and accounts. After minutes of 17 Apr. 1782 comes 7 pages of minutes of meetings of: "The Congregation Council", composed of all the Communicants, begun after the General Synod in 1769. 7 - 12 Nov 1769
