Lease for term of grantee's life: Robert Cukko (Mayor of Bedford), William Payne and Henry Walker (bailiffs), with the consent of the burgesses and commonalty, to Alice Greby of Bedford, widow. Annual rent: 20s. The shops and workshops ("shopas et opellas") with a parcel of land called "le stondyng" underneath the Guildhall ("subtus Gildam sulam") of the town of Bedford, which Hugh Greby, late husband of the said Alice, held. The Chamberlains of the town to keep the shop with "le stondyng" in repair. (No witnesses). (No signature; seal broken off).
