Letter from F W Ashpitel, Jersey, to Miss Brooks ‘My Dear Kate, I send my reply to Mr Foster’s letter of 13th inst of which you have a copy. Can you send me either the original or a copy of the deed I signed. If Mr Foster will send me the other deed I shall be in a better position. Do you know the circumstances under which the first deed of 1900 came into existence. I don’t remember to have heard of it before. Will you pass my letter on to Mr Foster. How either Mr Foster or the Parish Council came into the picture is beyond me. Hope you have been successful in securing another vicar. They seem to be scarce. We were without one for nearly a year.’
