- Scope and Content‘Dear Uncle Jack, Dillingham has asked for £200 on a/c as he has now practically completed. I told him I would let you know. I append the usual ‘final statement’ of my account. You will see how it works out but if you think the balance appears more than you think I ought to have – please act entirely as you wish – as to ‘overcharge’ you is my very last desire. Now the cottages are at length completed I trust you are satisfied with them & that they will give every satisfaction. I very much regret the long delay in completing them but we were most unfortunate in getting hold of a very bad builder – under the circumstances I think the work has turned out satisfactorily…your affect nephew Cecil Brooks.’ Statement of account balance is £13.14.0.
