Letter from Edgar F Jenkins to John Hatfield Brooks. Mr Walters, the new tenant, declines 3d per acre for shooting rights. Have heard nothing on Will’s Land. Post script ‘Drs Sharkey & Tyrrell examined GHB yesterday & had a consultation. They say that it is cancer on the liver & that at his age it may prove fatal in a few months. If he catches a chill it will be bad. Mrs Flitches says she will continue to do all she can for his comfort & welfare. Very rainy & wet here…’
