- Scope and ContentMy Tilbrook son and daughter have been stopping with us on their way from Ireland. I see the old Idolatry reviving around us. An instance stares one in the face as we enter Derby just beyond the China manufactory. That old house we used to call the ghost house which stood empty for years is now put under repair to make an abode for the Sisters of Mercy... Elliott's Hora Apostolica .. the infidel historian Gibbon. John and his wife left us this morning. From Samuel we heard lately, and is enjoying the holidays making a pedestrian tour to the Elbe and Saxon Switzerland. He seems still to wish for the medical line. To my surprise I heard from Longmire that he had been in France and had Thomas for his travelling companion.
