- Scope and ContentAnxious about your state of supense. Purchasing of a presentation a hazardous business. Conduct of your crazy Rector. I went to Kimbolton and Pertenhall at old Michaelmas. I lodged at Pertenhall at J. Bell's and thought of you while occupying the bed in which I saw you so ill. There was little alteration. The dear flock well. They go to Church mostly of an afternoon and seem to like the curate Mr Gould. I'd have called on him had not Thomas made a most untimely visit there that week. My wife did see Thomas at Mrs G. Bell's, and he is certainly non compos. He has taken a large house on the top of a high hill at Great Missenden where Mr Marks is minister, and there he lives with an old woman for his housekeeper, being already separated from his wife! Mr. Hull has engaged himself to be visitor in Manchester. Samuel is recovering from jaundice. Emma winters here.
