Boys and Girls Elementary Schools created in 1874, with Bedford Borough Council taking over responsibility in 1903, they became Harpur Trust Boys and Girls Central Schools in 1929 and in 1936 they amalgamated to form Harpur Central; it became Harpur CSM in 1946 and in 1965 became Westfield CSM
