    Probate of will of William Cumberland, Houghton Regis, farmer. his freehold estate, i.e. allotmt. 23a. 34p. in West Field, a mess. farmhouse and barns on S of village of Houghton Regis, and an ancient enclosed piece of meadow part of Back Lane; and his leasehold estate being his interest in a lease of 15 March 1797 from Christopher Tower esq., to his wife Ann for life, if she remains unmarried, to support their children: Elizabeth, Lydia wife of Joseph Eames, William, Rebecca, Thomas, James, Ann, Richard, and Mary. On death or remarriage of wife property to go to executors to be used to support children, and on Mary attaining the age of 21, to be divided among them, Lydia and William to have £100 less. Executors: wife, sons Wm. and Thos., Joseph Eames, Joseph Anstee of Edlesborough. made 1802 codicil 1804. proved Arch. B. 1806.
