From: Robert How, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I now forward balance sheet for the quarter ending Sep 29th I was in hopes of getting the rent for the 2 Houses at Dunstable and also for the Brewery House but have not succeeded, I will include them in Xmas quarter's a/c. I have let the Nag Stable and the Building adjoining at 6/- per week but only lately, I have also let the lower stable with loft over partly to J.Ironmonger & part to Mr.Scargill at 17/- per month, a small portion of which will be due in the Xmas quarter. I am in hopes of making some change with H.C.Brown with respect to the malting, as Messrs T.Sworder & Co would take it, if I can get Mr.Brown to take the lower Store room instead. I will do my best to make the most of the property".
