    Recites: Feoffment, 16 February 1701 i) Francis Child and Ralph Child, both of Maulden ii) John Pomfret, Matthyas Tompkins, John Sansom, Edward Hill, John Hill, Ralph Kilby, Nicholas Read, Nathven Linford, Thomas Underwood, and George Wainwright - all that close of pasture or arable ground (10a.) in Millbrook called Over Stannell To hold to ii) according to the tenor and effect of the will of Robert Becket Whereas ii) are all dead, and property became vested in 1) as grandson and heir at law of the said George Wainwright, the surviving trustee. Whereas under the Millbrook Inclosure Award dated 9 June 1803 a plot of land in Ford Field on the Warren (7a. 1p.) was awarded to Maulden Charity Estate in lieu of land in the open and common fields, the remainder [of the 10a.] being allotted to the Earl of Upper Ossory, as his 17th allotment, he having paid expences and undertaken to erect fences etc. The Charity land bounded: :E. Steppingley Road :S. allotment to James and Abraham Wheeler :W. the third allotment to his Majesty and the Duke of Bedford as Lessee :N. the seventeenth allotment to the Earl of Upper Ossory NOW For the more sufficiently keeping of trusts of the said lands, and to declare the charitable uses, in consideration of 10s. paid to 1) by each of 3), 1) grants to 3) - all that the said plot or parcel of land in Ford Field on the Warren in Millbrook (7a. 0r. 1p.), as awarded to the Feoffees, now in occ. of Mathew Wilcox. To hold to 3) that the sum of £4 10s. arising be given annually and paid for relieving poor widows, for putting forth fatherless children, and for paying the Minister of Maulden 10s. per annum for preaching a sermon on Trinity Sunday as directed by the will of Robert Beckett FURTHER Whereas 2) are surviving Trustees of Charity Estates in Maulden and Flitwick. NOW For sufficiently keeping and preserving the trusts of Charities and to declare Charitable uses, in consideration of 10s. paid by 2) by each of 3), 2) grant to 3) - cottage or tenement and blacksmiths shop now or late in the occupation of Thomas Campkin - three cottages or tenements in Maulden late in occ. of Ann Clark, Elizabeth Jennings, John Whitmore, and Ann Smith - cottage or tenement in Maulden in occ. of Elizabeth Plummer and Sarah Woodcraft - cottage or tenement in Maulden over against the Pound in occ. of James Cole - cottage or tenement called the Workhouse in Maulden - cottage or tenement now divided into three tenements with the gardens thereunto belonging at the Endship in Maulden called Water End, now or late in occ. of Peter Soulbury, George Chandler, and the widow Mann - cottage or tenement and garden in Duck End, in occ. of [blank] - close or plot of land on Maulden Green (2r. 29p.) - close or plot of land in Ampthill Field (3a. 3r. 18p.) - close or plot of land in the said Ampthill Field (5a. 1r. 0p.) - another close in Ampthill Field (18p.) - another close in Ampthill Field (3r. 17p.) - another close in Ampthill Field (2r. 9p.) All the last mentioned premises in Maulden, called the Maulden Charity Estate, in occ. of John Bridham and others, more particularly described in Feoffment dated 1 July 1801 ALSO - close or pightle of inclosed ground (1a.) with appurts. called Spinney Hole - messuage or tenement in Flitton, and the close or pightle of pasture ground thereunto adjoining and belonging (2a.) The above properties called the Maulden Charity Estate in Flitton, in occ. of the widow Lowe and others, more particularly described and bounded in a Feoffment dated 29 September 1800 To hold the Maulden Charity Estate upon trust to maintain the cottages, tenements and lands in good repair, to lease from year to year at the best rent that can be had for the same, the Trustees to meet annually in Maulden Parish Church before Lady Day to make leases and contracts. To pay a moiety of the clear yearly rents to the Churchwardens for repairs and other ornaments of the Church, and the other moiety to the Overseers for the relief and sustentation of the Poor on All Saints Day and on Tuesday in the week of Pentecost, to be distributed in a manner as shall seem good to the Trustees. [Various other clauses relating to appointment of new Trustees, appointment of a receiver of rents, and custody of Trust Deed etc.] The Flitton Charity Estate to be held on trust, and the rents from Spinney Hole to be used for putting and placing poor children of Maulden to school, and the rents of the other Flitton properties to be applied for the use of poor people of Maulden.
