Scope and Content
In consideration of sum of five shillings paid to 1) by 3), 1) as the heir of George Wainwright has bargained and sold to 3)
- close plot or parcel of land or ground lying in Ford field and in the warren in Millbrook containing 7 acres and 1 perch bounded East by Steppingley Road, South by allotment to James and Abraham Wheeler, West by third allotment to his Majesty and the Duke of Bedford as leasee and north by the 17th allotment to the Earl of Upper Ossory now in the occupation of Matthew Wilcox and was awarded and confirmed to the trustees of the Maulden charity by the commisssioners appointed by the Act for enclosing Millbrook in award dated 9 June 1803.
In consideration of sum of five shillings to each of George Brooks, Isaac Pennyfather, Francis Read and Benjamin Clark and in consideration of the further sum of five shillings to William Wainwright paid by 3). 2) acknowledge that they bargain and sell to 3)
- cottage or tenement and blacksmiths shop and garden now or late in the occupation Thomas Campkin
- three cottages or tenements in Maulden late in occupations of Ann Clark, Elizabeth Jennings, John Whitmore, and Ann Smith
- cottage or tenement in Maulden in occupations of Elizabeth Plummer and Sarah Woodcraft
- cottage or tenement in Maulden over against the Pound in occupation of James Cole
- cottage or tenement called the Workhouse in Maulden
- cottage or tenement now divided into three tenements with the gardens thereunto belonging at the Endship in Maulden called Water End, now or late in occupation of Peter Soulbury, George Chandler, and the widow Mann
- cottage or tenement and garden in Duck End, in occ. of [blank]
- close or plot of land on Maulden Green (2r. 29p.)
