    Papers found loose inside Walter Finedon's notebook: a) Card recording various dates: Pretoria taken, first peal of 120 changes and first time up St.Pauls, 5 June 1900; first peal (5040 Doubles at Willington), 4 July 1901; with other notes on back 1900-1901 b) Peal card [printed] for 5024 Bob Major at Barking, Essex, 9 January 1904, with message on back "to Walter from Den" [i.e. Dennis Carrier who rang the tenor to the peal] c) Letter from "Billy", 32 Regent Street, Luton, to "Maurice", 23 October 1905: Has been in Luton a couple of months. The best ringer in the tower, Mr. King, is Maurice's pupil. Luton band make a goodeffort to ring Stedman. We are trying to push Mr. King in conducting. Monthly meetings being held in the district, the first held last Saturday at Leighton - only ten attended, and the ringing was poor. Hope shortly to attempt a peal "with all Luton men in". St.Paul's Bedford "very poorly off indeed" and "cannot depend upon a Grandsire Triples band being there". Charlie Clarke has left altogether. J.Church never comes because of illness at home. Mr. A.N.Wood never comes near us. A practice night at St.Paul's is unknown. No-one will do anything for the learners except Mr.Tysoe, and he gives them a few sneers. Purchase of handbells. 23 October 1905 d) Reprint of press report of "The Bells of Elstow" from the Bedfordshire Mercury 18 Dec. 1908 (4pp.) e) Photographs of 1) the five bells from Flitton (by Richard Chandler 1687) at Bowell's works in Ipswich 1902, and 2) the new tenor by Alfred Bowell 1902 with its fittings 1902 f) Postcard of double peal board commemorating two peals rung [at Kettering] for the Cebtral Northamptonshire Association, i.e. 5088 Double Norwich Court Bob Major on 17 Nov.1906 and 5056 Superlative Surprise Major on 29 Dec.1908. Both peals conducted by Davis J.Nichols. n.d. [c.1908] g) Card addressed to W.Finedon, 123 Bower Street, Bedford, with "Best wishes to all my friends in Bedford, Xmas 1906, Bert Prewett" with portrait photograph of Prewett superimposed on outline of bell and fittings 1906
