- auction at George Inn, Graveley [Hertfordshire]; - auctioneer: Stanton; - Lot 1 - freehold - two tenements, part brick, part timber, tiled, in Graveley by side of Great North Road in occupation of Warner as a beer shop and tailor's shop; containing together 3 rooms at front, 3 chambers, cellar, pantry etc. with large garden planted with fruit trees; rent 10 per annum; adjoining cottage of 2 rooms below, 2 chambers, oven and back premises in occupation of Widow Deacon at 4 per annum rent; cottage in garden [of beer shop?] of one room below and 1 chamber, in occupation of William Watson at 2 per annum rent; frontage of all properties measured 100 feet with a depth of 45 feet "on which a small Brewery might be constructed"; land Tax 10/- per annum; - Lot 2 - copyhold - 2 tenements, timber and rough-cast and tiled, near George Inn, Graveley; each of 1 room in front, back kitchen, lean-to, 2 chambers and small gardens; one in occupation of Widow Scales at 4 per annum rent, the other in occupation of Joseph Prime, with old established blacksmith's shop at rent of 10 per annum; held of Manor of Chessfield; - conditions of sale on reverse; - acknowledgement on reverse by James Winch that he was highest bidder for Lot 1 at 304
